Aldi is also branching out into smartphones, with the Medion Life E4001. The Android smartphone has a 4-inch touchscreen and is powered by a 1GHz dual core processor. It comes with everything you’d expect, including wifi and Bluetooth, with a 2 megapixel camera. There’s only 4GB of memory, so you will have to invest in a microSD card. It even has an FM radio included.

Battery wise, it claims to offer 180 minutes of talk time, with 130 hours of standby time. That varies according to your usage, but if you don’t push it too hard with web browsing and other functions, you’ll find the battery will eke out a reasonable amount of time. The phone will be available from August 7th for a limited time.
