One More Thing: Harbison puts some financial zest into his latest tech venture

Niall Harbison, who sold his Simply Zesty social media agency to UTV for up to €6 million in 2012, is a busy boy making plans for his latest tech venture, PR Slides.
Harbison was so impressed, he stuck in some of his own cash.
PR Slides’ big idea is to create a huge bank of brand and product images for access by the media.
The brands pay to get their shots included, while the media can access it for free if they need product shots to illustrate a story.
Power and Harbison, who last year quit Simply Zesty one year into a four-year earn out period, recently raised €500,000 for their nascent venture. Kernel Capital lobbed in €100,000 alongside €150,000 from private investors.
Enterprise Ireland matched the funding, and the company is now hiring 20 staff as part of an expansion plan that is likely to result in PR Slides launching into Britain within a month.
Geoff Scully, the managing director of Littlewoods Ireland, has also come on board as chairman. The business is still in short trousers, yet the fund raising already values it at up to €1 million. Some millionaires get all the luck.
In his spare time, Harbison is also writing a book about how to transfer tips about entrepreneurship into everyday life.
Due for publication within months, it is called “Get Sh*t done”.
