Social networking site Facebook will report its fourth quarter and fiscal 2012 financial results after market close this Wednesday.

The company’s stock price has been climbing back after a precipitous decline just after it floated, a slide that made it one of the worst-performing technology initial public offerings of 2012.

It is up 18 per cent this year alone, partially due to the recent Graph Search unveiling.

The latest results are expected to show a 34 per cent rise in sales to $1.51 billion, according to estimates compiled by Bloomberg.

According to the data from Comscore earlier this month, Facebook was the most downloaded mobile app in the United States in 2012, edging Google Maps out of the Number 1 spot.

On the subject of social networking, a workshop – Facebook for Business – is taking place on Friday at the Gresham Hotel in Dublin.

The half-day workshop covers trends in social media consumption in Ireland and aims to show participants how to create a business page, the best way to use content on it and how to create and monitor adverts on Facebook.
