Mobile voice search favoured by teens

1,400 Americans of all ages were quizzed about their voice search habits

Okay, Google, how many people actually use voice search on their smartphone? It turns out that mobile voice search has more than doubled in the past year so its popularity is growing rapidly.

In a Google-commissioned survey by Northstar Research 1,400 Americans of all ages were quizzed about their voice search habits. Teens are the biggest adopters, with more than half of them using it daily and the most popular use is calling friends. Adults, on the other hand, use voice search most for asking for directions. Other popular uses include playing songs, finding cinema times or asking the time. Oh, and the most popular request for future voice search is for sending out for pizza.
