LinkedIn jobs grow to 300 in Dublin

Employee numbers in the Dublin office of LinkedIn are now about three times higher than the world’s largest professional network first said it planned to create here.

Since it opened its international head office in Dublin in 2010, LinkedIn has quietly ramped up its head count in Dublin to almost 300 people and it is continuing to hire as it expands its office space.

In March 2011, LinkedIn announced plans to hire 100 people within a year but it has not said how much it has grown its employee numbers ever since.

LinkedIn did not respond to requests for comment on its Irish headcount or how many people it is currently hiring.

In January it emerged that LinkedIn had become the latest multinational to opt to keep its financial performance based out of Ireland to itself. It filed its accounts with the Companies Registration Office for 2012 as an unlimited company for the first time.

In its most recent financial accounts, for 2011, LinkedIn reported a loss of €6 million on sales of €133 million for its Irish-based company. As a result it paid no corporation tax in 2011. A loss of €3.7 million in 2010 meant that it also paid no tax in that financial year. On February 6th, the California-based company said its overall first-quarter revenue will be $455 million to $460 million, below analysts’ average projected sales of $469.4 million.
