Dinner time for tech heads

Paddy Cosgrave will host his F.ounders dinner and then there is the Flounders dinner

Speaking of the Web Summit, the organisers have made a last-minute hire to run their press operation, PSG Communications, which was born out of the merged Slattery and Pembroke groups. They'll be busy.

After the summit ends on Thursday, attention will turn to the battle of the dinners. Paddy Cosgrave will host his F.ounders dinner, an invitation-only nosh-up of elites, where past attendees include Elon Musk and Twitter's Jack Dorsey. Bono, part of the ubiquitous elite, has also attended.

Then there is the Flounders dinner, a tongue-in-cheek gathering of summit "failures" insufficiently elite for F.ounders. It was started a few years ago by a crew including Beach Hut chief executive Paul Hayes, who was turned away at the door of F.ounders and resolved to have his own event. Attendees are encouraged to tell stories of failure.

You’ll probably find the facetious Flounders guys roaming around the Fade Street area of Dublin in the wee hours of Friday morning. Beware.
