Beannchor to create 60 new jobs in Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter

Expansion is part of a £400,000 investment in a new cocktail bar and nightclub

Beannchor, one of the North’s largest hospitality groups, is to create a further 60 jobs in Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter as part of a £400,000 investment in a new cocktail bar and nightclub.

The new Sixty6 venue, which will open next month, will push Beannchor's total portfolio across Northern Ireland to more than 50 pubs, hotels and restaurants

The company, founded 30 years ago by well known local entrepreneur Bill Wolsey, already owns some of Belfast's busiest bars and the five star luxury Merchant Hotel.

The hospitality group now employs more than 650 people across its operations in the North.

Its new cocktail bar and nightclub in Belfast city centre and will be set over three floors in a Grade B listed former National Bank building.

Its the latest investment for Beannchor in its multi-million pound, expanding Cathedral Quarter portfolio which currently includes The Dirty Onion, the free-range rotisserie chicken restaurant, Yard Bird, The National Grande Café Bar and an artisan bakery.

Beannchor hope its new “high end venue” will bring a different dimension to Belfast’s evening economy.
