Central Bank seeks a contractor to finish off what Anglo Irish started

The Central Bank of Ireland has tendered for a contractor to undertake building works on the site of its new headquarters in Dublin's north docklands, a site earmarked as a head office for Anglo Irish Bank before the bank collapsed.

The tender is seeking a specialist contractor to build the facade of the premises on North Wall Quay, which is currently an empty shell.

This will involve the “design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing and commissioning” of the facade.

According to the tender, the building will comprise 25,000 sq metres of office space, provisions for a car park ramp, flood defences, pavement upgrade and general external works.

The building was acquired by the Central Bank last year.

A spokeswoman said the bank hopes to begin building work in March next year, with staff due to move in during the first half of 2016.
