Nama appoints receivers to defunct builder
Nama has appointed receivers to a defunct building company connected to the family that own the high-profile Castlemartyr hotel and resort.
Following action by creditors, the High Court last month ordered that building company John F Supple be wound up and appointed accountant Edmond Cahill as liquidator to the business.
Nama subsequently appointed Jim Hamilton and David O’Connor of BDO as receivers over part the group’s assets on foot of a €20 million debt.
The building firm is owned by members of the Supple family, which also owns the Castlemartyr resort in east Cork. The hotel was not involved in the winding-up proceedings or in any action taken by the Nama.
