€750,000 sought for retreat and conference centre in Waterford

Estate agent Donal O Buachalla is seeking €750,000 for the Grace Dieu Retreat and Conference Centre at Tramore Road, Waterford, which was operated for 30 years by a Roman Catholic religious order, the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart.

The entire complex extends to more than 3,000sq m (32,300 sq ft) and includes a retreat and conference centre completed in 1986, along with 40 ensuite bedrooms. The centrepiece is the original manor house which retains many of its original features.

The buildings are located on a 14-acre site with mature woodlands and spectacular walks and recreational facilities. The centre is located off the busy Tramore road about 5km from Waterford city.

Fergal Burke of the estate agents said the complex had obvious potential as a hotel and conference centre or for conversion to other uses including education, healthcare, rehabilitation or residential.
