Claudia Marshall has been appointed as Ikea’s new market manager for Ireland.

German-born Ms Marshall will be responsible for growing the Ikea brand in Ireland and will oversee the Ikea store in Ballymun as well as the order and collection point in Carrickmines.

Ms Marshall originally joined Ikea in 2006 and was latterly distribution services area manager for north Europe before joining Ikea UK and Ireland last year.

“At Ikea, our vision is to create a better everyday life for the many people and I look forward to doing just that by bringing Ikea closer to as many people as possible in Ireland; strengthening our customer experience and working to support and inspire our co-workers,” Ms Marshall said.

Ikea continues to grow its footprint in Ireland. Last year the Swedish homeware giant opened its first collection store at Carrickmines in south Dublin, and continues to grow its Irish sales. Last year revenues at its Irish outlets grew by 15 per cent to €152.1 million, with pretax profits of some €11.8 million. According to the 2017 edition of the Top1000, Ikea is now the 357th largest company in Ireland.
