Central Bank warns on unauthorised investment firm

Lawson Consultancy Limited (USA) is not authorised to trade in Ireland, regulator says

The Central Bank on Monday warned that Lawson Consultancy Limited (USA) is not authorised to act as an investment firm, investment business firm or to provide investment advice in Ireland.

The regulator warned consumers should be aware that if they deal with an unauthorised entity, such as Lawson, then they are not eligible for compensation. It urged anyone offered financial services via cold calls or email to make additional checks to ensure the entity they are dealing with is authorised.

A list of unauthorised firms published to date is available on the Central Bank website. So far this year, the Central Bank has issued warnings against three other firms: Asashi Mergers & Acquisitions; Drakefield Corporate Partners; and Colbert & Welling LLP.

Consumers can contact the Central Bank of Ireland if they have any information on the company.
