Storyful seeks ‘information radiator’ with ‘unmatchable work rate’

Expect the unexpected if you want to be hired by the News Corp social news agency

Storyful, the social-media verification agency founded by Mark Little, is hiring, but what kind of person might they be looking for?

In its recruitment spec for a Dublin-based job titled “Product Owner – Social Discovery”, the company says its challenge-loving product owners love to change the way people understand the web: “Innovation in unfamiliar environments, for unexpected audiences, is part of their normal routine.”

The work they produce will move markets, change industries and “spark new conversations” not just every second day but every single day.

“The problems they solve will be real,” it continues.

Storyful, a subsidiary of Rupert Murdoch's News Corp since it paid €18 million for the company in December 2013, is now headed by Rahul Chopra – Little departed last month, writing that Chopra had all the skills to guide Storyful to a "glorious second act".

In its latest job ad, Storyful, which employs about 90 people across six cities, says it is interested in informal conversations with “a doer, a maker, a troubleshooter, a problem-solver, an information radiator and someone who inspires others with brilliant ideas, endless positivity and an unmatchable work rate”.

Unmatchable work rate? It seems like the man to beat for the job might very well be the ghost of Soviet productivity figurehead Alexey Stakhanov.
