EUROPE REPORT: Eurostoxx 50: 2,908.53 (+1.61) Paris CAC: 3,833.0 (+3.94) Frankfurt DAX: 5,795.28 (+16.85)EUROPEAN STOCKS fluctuated as an unexpected drop in US housing starts offset announcements from Hershey and Ferrero that they were reviewing their options over a potential offer for Cadbury.
Bayer slid 2.9 per cent after International Petroleum Investment denied a report the German drugs and chemicals maker is an acquisition target. William Morrison Supermarkets slid 5.1 per cent after chief executive officer Marc Bolland resigned to join Marks Spencer.
