Bank of Ireland seeks judgement orders against O’Donnells

Bank of Ireland is pursuing judgment orders against solicitor Brian O’Donnell, his wife and two adult sons in proceedings alleging fraud against them over allegedly conspiring to put in place a “blatant” scheme to put property assets in London beyond its reach.

Cian Ferriter SC, for the bank, yesterday sought a hearing date for its application for judgment against the couple and their sons.

The O’Donnells, via various applications, were trying to create a limbo situation so the case cannot move on, he argued.

Proinsias O Maolchain, for Blake and Bruce O'Donnell, asked Mr Justice Peter Kelly to defer the hearing.

An adjournment was also sought by counsel for Brian and Mary Patricia O’Donnell.

Mr Justice Kelly said saw no reason not to fix a hearing date for the bank’s application for judgment orders in its proceedings alleging fraud and he would fix that for July 2nd next, the judge said.
