Management deal safeguards 200 jobs in Enniskillen

French owned Teleperformance has agreed a deal to manage and operate Liberty Mutual's contact centre in Enniskillen which employs more than 200 people.

Last month Liberty Mutual restructured its operations in Ireland after withdrawing from the personal motor insurance market in Britain.

This will result in 270 job losses over the next 18 months with 250 of its staff set to be made redundant in Ireland while 20 people in the North will also lose their jobs.

Liberty Mutual also detailed plans at the time to transfer its contact centre in Fermanagh, with 210 jobs to a “third party company”.

Today it confirmed that Teleperformance would take over the site.

The Paris headquartered group recently announced its interim results which highlighted a 7.8 per cent increase in half year revenue growth of 7.8 per cent to €1.6 billion.

The North's Finance Minister Arlene Foster has welcomed the decision by Teleperformance to operate the Enniskillen contact centre.

“The company’s plans to grow the Enniskillen contact centre over the coming years is great news for the local area, bringing benefits to customers and the wider economy.

“Customer services are an important function for global companies like Liberty Mutual and the fact that they are retaining this service with Teleperformance in Northern Ireland is testament to the skills of our local workforce,” the Minister said.
