Leading figures to attend chamber of commerce event
A number of leading business and political figures from the UK and Ireland will come together in January for the inaugural British Irish Chamber of Commerce conference.
Speakers at the event, which takes place on January 24th and 25th, include 11890 founder Nicola Byrne, ESB chief executive Pat O’Doherty, Glen Dimplex chairman Seán O’Driscoll and Carwyn Jones, first minister of Wales.
The conference will examine how both countries can work together to promote jobs and growth.
“The last 12 months has undoubtedly been another challenging year for businesses on both sides of the Irish Sea as firms struggle to secure growth and endeavour to adapt their business models to succeed in new markets. The aim of our upcoming annual conference is to facilitate the debate and discussion on how we can respond and take action collectively to rise to these challenges,” British Irish Chamber of Commerce chief executive Steve Aiken said.
The chamber’s membership combines over €33 billion of business interests and supplies approximately 55,000 jobs on both sides of the Irish Sea.
