DevelopmentLand:A five-acre site on the edge of Enniskerry village in Co Wicklow is expected to sell for over €5 million when it goes to tender on September 26th through Hassett estate agents.
The land and a detached house, Swiss Cottage, is little more than a quarter of a mile from the centre of the village and has 300ft of frontage on to the Bray road.
The site is predominantly level at the front and rises up as it runs towards the rear of Summerhill Hotel. It is located just outside the village development boundary but, according to Rory Fenelon of Hassett, the development plan is due to be reviewed in 2008.
He says the site "has very definite development potential" and, because so few sites come on the market beside the village, he expected strong interest in the property.
Enniskerry has retained its old world atmosphere and is one of the most unspoilt villages in Ireland.
It has a huge range of facilities, some of them on the famous Powerscourt estate and golf club.
