. . . and some little things
IRISH IT software company MMSOFT Design has signed a distribution contract with Dutch company Secom Software worth €1.5 million.
MMSOFT was set up in Dublin last year by Romanian Marius Mihalec. It employs four staff, and John Corrigan, MMSOFT’s director of sales, predicts that this will rise to 11 via the Secom contract.
It is also seeking to raise €300,000 from venture capital groups.
“We’re looking for investors and working with Enterprise Ireland on this,” Corrigan told me. “We’d hope to complete the fundraising by the end of this year.”
GOOD LUCK to the 30 climbers from Gaelectric who are aiming to reach the top of Carrauntoohil this weekend in a bid to raise up to €20,000 for three charities – Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland, Renewable World International and United Ways of Cascade County Montana USA.
The climbers intend to erect a 12 volt/50 watt wind turbine, which will provide enough power to pump water from Lake Eighter at the foot of the mountain.
