    Freedom fry

    Pól Ó Muirí

Children are all back at school today. I celebrated with a freedom fry in the local bistro – and ordered some extra peace and quiet with the potato bread. Ah, I love them all them dearly but when you work from home as much as I do, they can get under your feet – to say nothing about disturbing my morning tv viewing. That said, freedom comes at a price – I have to hang out the washing and the floors are not going to hoover themselves. Braveheart, it is not.

    • Derry O'Sullivan says:

O what a piece of work is a father(sic): you’re either under their feet or they’re under yours which amounts to the same thing! The Bard gave the Capulet-Montague solution to the problem . How great to be a doormat! And then there’s the homework, the mobile phones always glued to an ear except when you try to call them to find out whether they’re living or dead… One consolation: we’ll skip Purgatory in the next life, Pól!
