La Boca, Bitburger and Béal Feirste

    Pól Ó Muirí

Talk about bad luck – for me anyway! The programme for the 11th McCracken Summer School in Belfast will be launched tomorrow at 5pm in La Boca bistro in Belfast city centre, a place where I often eat when I am in the city. The food is always good and they also serve one of Germany’s best beers, Bitburger. But oh no, I can’t go and have some Bitburger and briathra binne because I have a prior commitment. Ah well. Festival details are here. Mmmm, Bitburger…

Love the blog Pól. Gutted I am only seeing this post now as my office is a few doors up from La Boca and would have enjoyed soaking up some culture and Bitburger respectively after a hard days work!

PS. As a freckly red head who recently got badly burnt visiting the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, I have yet to hear any concern from my ‘so called’ friends, however I greatly appreciate the concern you have expressed towards us in your previous post, and yes contrary to popular belief, we do have feelings!

PPS I will be putting your theory to the test on the 12th, I’ve been practising on my vuvuzela!

    • One of the McCracken crowd volunteered to drink an extra pint of Bitburger for me when he found out I was not going to be there. Nice lot those McCracken ones! Still have pangs of thirst!
