Watch out for Only Lovers Left Alive and others at JDIFF

The Jameson Dublin International Film Festival is almost with us.

We are almost into the capital’s premiere film event. You can read reviews (published on the day for added handiness) of the better films in the paper. Watch out for interviews with Peter Morgan and Richard Dreyfuss — both recipients of Volta Awards — on Friday. And, of course, there will be the odd word from me here. For the most part we are avoiding including reviews of film already tagged at early festivals such as Cannes or the Galway Film Fleadh. We are talking of projects such as Jim Jarmusch’s ¬†Only Lovers Left. There’s little point in going into too much detail as I reviewed it from Cannes here. But suffice to say, after some slackness, Jim is back on form. I loved it. Here’s the trailer:
