Alpha Papa! It’s the Alan Partridge teaser

We may be bucktoothed simpletons with eyebrows on our cheeks, but we greatly admire the first trailer for the upcoming Alan Partridge movie.

As you may be aware, the first Alan Partridge film is due in August. We have high hopes for this. As I may have mentioned before, the team behind Norwich’s second greatest export — after a certain yellow condiment, obviously — have done a magnificent job of keeping the comedy fresh with each new iteration. Maybe, the second series of I’m Alan Partridge dragged a little. But the recent Mid Morning Matters was consistently superb. Even the fake autobiography rocked.

Whatever the film is like, we can’t much complain about the teaser trailer. The plot seems to concern Alan trapped in a siege situation. That may be misdirection of course. There were rumours earlier that he was to be dragged into a variation on the Leveson inquiry. There was even a characteristically amusing sneak video. “See you in a while, pedophile.” Actually, given that Steve Coogan was a witness at that circus, such a move may have been a little too self-regarding.

Anyway, I won’t say too much about the teaser, in case you haven’t see it. Jurassic Park! Back of the net! And so on…
