The 11th Jameson Dublin International Film Festival kicked off last night with a screening of Rufus Norris’s fine Broken. The film has taken a while to get to us. It played in Cannes last year to some applause and then picked up the best movie prize at the British Independent Film Awards. Mark O’Rowe’s script is super. Cillian Murphy is great. Check it out when it opens here in three weeks. I am off to talk to Tim Roth about the film shortly and will share his thoughts with you next week.
Among the highlights tonight, we pick out Natan, Night of Silence and Manhunt. There may still be some tickets floating around. All are worthy of your time.
