If you only do one this weekend …

    Laurence Mackin

Watch: The Plough and the Stars in the Abbey. A very fine production in the place where it was born around the corner from where it all kicked off in 1916. Is is inevitable that Joe Hanley (below on the right) steals the show as Fluther?

Listen to: Iron Maiden tonight in the 02 (now that’s what I call metal) or Leonard Cohen in Lissadell. Is there anyone out there who is managing to do both?

See: Ferran Garcia Sevilla’s exhibition in Imma in Dublin (below). A brilliantly varied exhibition drawing on a range of geographical influences, with a typically Spanish dash of vibrant colour.

Of course, you may have your own ideas about what to do at the weekend. Feel free to post them below, please try and keep them brief and do declare an interest where you have one.

    • Round off your bank holiday weekend with an outdoor screening of the 1929 silent classic “Man with a Movie Camera” on Fitzwilliam Square with a live original score performed by 3epkano. It’s on Mon Aug 2nd at twilight so around 9pm or shortly afterwards. Only 5 Euro in at the north gate (Baggot St end.)

Bring something warm and something to sit on. We leave no trace of the event so bring a bag for your rubbish too thanks!

I’m in the band and like everyone else, hope the weather permits this event to go ahead :-)

    • Very interesting post. Thanks again.. Please Keep it Up!!
Oh wow! I gotta look into this!
