Update: Cinema in the park postponed

    Fiona McCann

OK, so maybe it IS as bad as they all make out. The highly anticipated (by me, at least) Cinema in the Park event tonight has been postponed due to nasty weather forecasts (shakes fist at sky). So no Faust in Fitzwilliam Square and no 3epkano to ease you into that Friday feeling after all. I’ll try to keep y’all updated on the new date for same, but keep an eye on their Facebook page just in case they get there first. Now. Back to your Thursdays with you.

Hope the weather warms up (and more important, dries up!) a bit for Africa Day on Sunday! Last year was a sweltering hot day and such a great day in Iveagh Gardens!

Being the eternal optimist – albeit well wrapped up with raingear – and not having heard any notice of the Cinema in the Park event being cancelled, I made my way to Fitzwilliam square last night, only too late to realise my journey had been wasted. In the future, might I suggest that the ‘organisers’ of this event provide adequate notice of the fact that it has been cancelled? A few announcements on radio, for example, would have been sufficient.
