Hozier performed on Letterman last night, with his calling card ‘Take Me To Church’. Check it out:

It’s a busy time for Hozier, his live schedule this summer hits up everywhere from the Troubadour in LA, Glastonbury, Longitude back home, Benicassim, and loads more.

There’s also this fantastic Q&A with Hozier from New York Magazine recently, which illustrates his serious smarts. (I did an interview with him which you can read here last Autumn, and he really is one of the nicest chaps you could meet.)

Neon Jungle covered ‘Take Me To Church’ recently, and as strange a partnership that might seem on paper, it’s actually great. That song is so huge, so powerful, so well-crafted, so lyrically brilliant.

The industry buzz surrounding Hozier was and continues to be BIG. Over a dozen A&R people made their way to his Dublin show last October. Here’s some context to that by Niall Muckian, which features the choice anecdote of Caroline Desmond happening upon Hozier at a barbecue.

Of course, the Feel Good Lost fellas deserve serious high fives for making a cracking video that resonated with so many people – the official upload of which has well over three million views on YouTube by now. If you want a seriously nerdy review of it go here.

In February Columbia signed Hozier for his US album release. It’s smart to get that business out of the way before SXSW (where Clash interviewed him), and in Texas he appeared on too many “go see” lists to mention. Also in March, he stopped by KCRW to play this session.

All this and the album isn’t even out yet – we can expect it later this year.
