Drop Everything

One of Ireland’s most unique festivals returns.

Fri, Mar 21, 2014, 15:35

It’s been nearly two years since Drop Everything enchanted those who descended on Inis Oirr for a festival with a difference, and this May it returns. The free event, which features music, talks, visual art, and more, will take place on the island over May 23rd to the 25th.

Over on FundIt, the festival is picking up cash at an extraordinary speed. I’ve been a keen observer of FundIt since it launched almost exactly three years ago, and the velocity with which Drop Everything is going at at the moment is truly remarkable.

The reason being, of course, is that Drop Everything is an authentic real life experience, run by good people, that’s unique and well thought out. The festival really aims to give you something. With the full line-up not announced yet, the crew are promising “creativity across the board, from an Inis Oírr inspired cocktail bar to island specific observatories from London’s art/science studio super/collider, an interview with Luke Franklin, the artist behind the incredible 4 Bothies project and a midnight audio visual performance from CLU to name but a few.”
