Le Galaxie have grown to be one of Ireland’s best bands, building a solid fanbase from brilliant festival performances. They top their year with a gig at the Olympia theatre on Friday December 13th. You can buy tickets here. And watch their latest video for ‘Lucy Is Here’ below.

The People VS George Lucas. The last place I saw as many virgins was when I martyred myself for Allah.

Lasertom @ Twisted Pepper. Simon Cullen has forgot more about smooth grooves than you and I will ever know.

Last stage production you saw and your verdict?
A live, black and white (really!) production of Nosferatu in The New Theatre. Noble failure.

Anthony’s sex show.

Sight & Sound. They stopped making Rodent & Marsupial Monthly in 2005 :-(

Which boxset/TV series do you have on the go at the moment?
Star Trek (original), Hannibal (incredible) American Dad (not kidding, it’s so brilliant and not at all Seth MacFarlane-y), Boardwalk Empire (the greatest storytelling on TV right now), The Shield (I really wish they could say ‘FUCK’), Luther (so pretty, so stupid), Broadchurch (so pretty, so sad). I’ve quit Homeland and Walking Dead because they are just the worst.

Which app do you use the most?
SCHEIDR – For fans of the late Jaws actor Roy Scheider. All the news, updates, gossip and breaking news a Roy Scheider enthusiast could want.

Do you play video games or mobile platform games, and if so, what’s your favourite at the moment?
Video games demean us all.

What is your favourite club night of all time?
Maximum Joy in Kennedy’s was THE SHIT.

If you could transport one international cultural outlet to your home town, what would it be and why?
Templehoff Airport that hosts BerlinFest. If Ireland had a festival in an airport it would change everything.

What are you reading?
Surely you’re joking, Mr. Feynman! – Richard P. Feynman

Last film you saw and your verdict?
Gravity in IMAX 3D. It was a joy to go to space, even though the rocket was powered by George Clooney’s smuggest grins to date.

Last gig/concert you went to and your verdict?
The Funeral Suits in The Workman’s – one of the best live vocal sounds I’ve ever heard.

Last stage production you saw and your verdict?
The Book of Mormon – I saw it 3 months ago and I still haven’t stopped smiling.

Last gallery / museum / exhibition you visited and your verdict?
The Louvre, Paris. A rollercoaster of elation and disappointed expectation.

You have a golden ticket to Easons, what magazine is first on your list?
Sound on Sound.

Feedly (all my RSS feeds), Reddit.

The Atheist Experience (a public access phone-in show from Austin, Texas)

The outright lunatics who buy into conspiracy theories: hollow earth, lizard people etc. – you know, David Icke, Alex Jones and their ilk. The nuttier the better.

What is your favourite club night of all time?
Whatever happened to be on in Kennedy’s (Westland Row) on a Saturday night circa 2007.

If you could transport one international cultural outlet to your home town, what would it be and why?
The Tate Modern – mainly to avail of the large-scale installations they host in the turbine hall. I was at “The Weather Project” there years ago and it was a wonderful yet uncategorisable experience.

What are you reading?
I’m slowly making my way through Haruki Murakami’s After Dark with the emphasis on the slowly.

Last film you saw and your verdict
Rush. I was sceptical about Chris Hemsworth playing James Hunt but he did well and Daniel Bruhl is great as Niki Lauda.

Last gig/concert you went to and your verdict?
I saw MS MR in the Academy but only because Sleep Thieves were the support. MS MR were forgettable, Sleep Thieves were great.

Last stage production you saw and your verdict?
A friend playing the lead in Arthur Miller’s All My Sons. The boy did good!

Last gallery / museum / exhibition you visited and your verdict?
Bennie Reilly’s recent show titled Rara Avis show in the RHA. Amazing, vivid and brooding paintings of rare birds.

You have a golden ticket to Easons, what magazine is first on your list?
Whisky magazine. Anyone that know me will know this is an obvious one.

What are your most clicked bookmarks?
BBC, Journal.ie, Broadsheet, Nialler9 and browncardigan.

Do you have a favourite podcast or radio programme?
Mark Kermode and Simon Mayo’s Film Review.

When you fall into a YouTube hole what’s the general subject matter of the videos you’re watching?
Fail compilations and those Russian dashcam videos of mad car crashes.

What song should we listen to right now?
Diamond Dagger’s tune ‘What’s Your Friend’s Name’ with Meljoann on vocals. It’s the most 80s sounding thing since 1990.

Which boxset/TV series do you have on the go at the moment?
I really don’t have time to watch much TV. I’m going to pick up the first season of Eastenders and see how I go from there.

Which app do you use the most?
At the moment finding Limmy’s Xylo app gets a lot of use.

Do you play video games or mobile platform games, and if so, what’s your favourite at the moment?
Real Racing 3 on android nearly took over my life for a while. I’m not playing anything else. Life just got real.

What is your favourite club night of all time?
Well we had some great nights in Antics back in the day, didn’t we?

If you could transport one international cultural outlet to your home town, what would it be and why?
The Glasgow Barrowlands, an amazing venue that would rival the Olympia for atmosphere and energy.
