Noli timere

Maser’s new piece pays tribute to Seamus Heaney.

Wed, Dec 4, 2013, 15:41

From Maser:
“A painting I finished on the weekend on South Richmond street, D2.
Seamus Heaney’s last words ‘Noli timere’ – ‘Don’t be afraid.’
Painted this for Good people in Hard times.”

In other Heaney tribute news, the arts programme Imeall on TG4 (DOI: I report for this sometimes), will feature a dedicated episode to Heaney on Christmas Day at 8.45pm. Taking in Derry, Dublin, London and Belfast and featuring interviews with friends, students of Heaney, and collaborators, as well as readings from Heaney himself, it sounds like a pretty beautiful tribute, so keep an eye out for it when you’re done with the turkey.
