The awesome tri-country-Germany-based-one-third-Irish band you need in your life release their first record today.

Kool Thing‘s self-titled album is a thumping mix of gothic electronic tunes, pulsing tales of love, escape, clubbing, and divilment. The band, Julie (from Dublin), Jon (from Sydney) and Valentin (from France) are based in Berlin and have been doing great things over the past couple of years; playing Camden Crawl Dublin, Forbidden Fruit, HWCH, Iceland Airwaves, touring Europe and Australia with Austra, supporting MEN, Light Asylum, remixing Austra and Telepathe, and next week will be playing at SXSW and then CMW (Canadian Music Week) the week after.

They are having album release party gigs this Saturday in Dublin at the Button Factory, and on April 5th in Berlin at Urban Spree. If you’re in either city, definitely hit up the gigs because they’re totally captivating live.

You can get in on Bandcamp here, or on iTunes.

Here’s the video for one of my favourite tracks Plan.Life.Go.
