Over the next few weeks on PopLives, the Q&A that concerns itself with the media consumption of interesting people, the nominees of this year’s Meteor Choice Music Prize will be answering the questions. The Choice takes place in Vicar Street on March 7th. 

Wallis Bird is an award-winning Irish musician who won Hope For 2009 at the 2009 Meteor Awards and Best Irish Female Artist the following year. Her third album, ‘Wallis Bird’ is nominated for this year’s Choice Music Prize.

What are you reading?
Last Monday’s Guardian newspaper.

Last film you saw and your verdict?
A documentary about DMT called The Spirit Molecule.

Last gig/concert you went to and your verdict?
Villagers/ Grizzly Bear in Astra, Berlin: Astounding.

Last stage production you saw and your verdict? 
My friend sent me a video of a theatre production where a man dances onto stage through a free standing coat hanger wearing a nappy, a woman also wearing a nappy is on crutches and eating a microphone, then a guy comes running in on his crutches also wearing a nappy with a long metal phallic piece stuck to him and bell taps on the coat hanger. Jury is still out on that one…

Fail, funny, bloopers, animals, plane crashes, Samantha Fox drunk.

‘Romeo & Juliet (III)’, by The Magic Lantern.

Which boxset/TV series do you have on the go at the moment?
None, but I did watch an awful lot of Breaking Bad on tour in November.

Which app do you use the most?
Whatsapp or Shazam.

Do you play video games or mobile platform games, and if so, what’s your favourite at the moment?
I love watching people play mostly, but a good two-player game is good. Car games or Tekken or something.

What is your favourite club night of all time?
Blackout Party. Berlin. Can’t see anyone or anything. Good times.

If you could transport one international cultural outlet (gallery, theatre, venue, club, etc) to your home town, what would it be and why?
A music house, full with complimentary instruments and open to all, all the time.
