Peter Yang, a bloke who shoots primarily for Rolling Stone, Esquire and The New York Times Magazine, has become one of my favourite portrait photographers of late. He’s so good at just nailing a particular mood or bringing out an eccentricity in a subject. Check out his music stuff here. I especially dig this Lee Scratch Perry one:

His shot of a youthful-looking Obama almost casts him as a cheeky start-up CEO. And he has surrealism down as well, such as this portrait of Stephen Colbert. His sports stuff is amazing too, but equally compelling and more human than superhuman are his portraits of #Occupy protestors.
