I’m currently digesting a great weekend of music docs after OneTwoOneTwo, a music documentary festival I organised with my friend Cillian and the Light House cinema in Smithfield. I feel like I’ve been living in the cinema for the past three days and 10 films is quite a lot to see in one weekend, but thankfully the festival went really well, great feedback from everyone and hopefully we’ll now get an opportunity and have earned the experience to build on it.

Highlights for me were a brilliant, intelligent and hilarious Banter session on Madonna, seeing In Bed With Madonna on the big screen for the first time, the raucous party atmosphere for Stop Making Sense, the incredible story of Rodriguez in Searching For Sugarman (the man himself plays Vicar Street on November 27th), the beautiful story of a community in Sound It Out, and the heart-wrenching and enriching tale of Jason Becker in Jason Becker: Not Dead Yet.

Arena’s report on OneTwoOneTwo isĀ here, it’s the first item so you don’t have to go trawling through the programme, although all of it is worth a listen, of course!
