Given the current mess that Senator Norris is making of things just imagine what a hash he would make were he to be the President and to have that platform for his pomposity. The current President has set the bar very high indeed and her dignified and calm manner should be an example to all Politicans. Having lived abroad in various countries for 45 years I am very aware of the image the world has of Ireland as projected by our recent crop of “Politicians”. Lets hope that we can find a successor to the current President that will help redress that image. Whatever about Senator Norris’s acedemic qualifications his ‘windbaggery’ would do us no favours.

I’m getting addicted to Harry’s hypnotic tones……….but what a hoot! Those rookie coalition dudes think they’re gonna last five years! What a hoot! The citizen body is already back in revolution mode and it’s only been a few weeks of, let’s face it, this pretty anaemic coalition. No way you “tell-the-people-what-they-want-to-hear” greenhorns are going to be feasting on those fat salaries for much longer. Rookies.

Fine Gaels Gay Mitchell has the poise and statesmanship to carry out the role .He has been accompanied all his political life by his wife who will make an excellent first lady. The Presidency has become a family affair .Both Martin Mc Aleese and Nick Robinson were important supporters to their President .
