    South Africa’s Mugabe?

    Deaglán de Bréadún

Have to say I’m with the journalist on this one. Scary stuff. Click here.

Jeepers, I thought he was going to pull out a machete! Your man was lucky to get away. At the same time, though, the journalist was interrupting Malema in that snipe-like News of the World sort of way and like the man said — when in Rome, etc.
Finally! Someone to put manners on journalists!!

I don’t agree at all that the man should be brandished South Africa’s Mugabe. Mugabe has ordered the deaths of hundreds of people and imprisoned countless others while squandering millions of international money. This chap just holds the role of dictator in high regard and clearly needs to look back over the manner in which he was elected and to what regard.

The journalist did catch him out alright and it was well done. Be interesting to see Zuma’s comments about this.

    • Deaglán, he’d be well got in some political organisations in this country with that mentality. I can imagine him now addressing a cumann meeting alongside his local TD and berating the press for not knowing their place with their questioning of the TD expenses and foreign travel and that the real people of Ireland would have their revenge so they would.

Wow what a cowed bunch of hacks. Not one of them had the guts to walk out in support of their colleague. Tch. So this is Idi Amin Redux by the looks of it then.

    • Ray D says:

I too was amazed that the other journalists did not walk out. What gutless parasites the media people are – par for the course.

I have been in South Africa many times over the past decade and more. I believe that, while there is somewhat more integration than there was, political violence is on the rise. There are many blacks that hate the whites and want to treat them much as Mugabe does. South Africa has a strengthening currency, huge prospects and massive resources. I think that it will waste the oppportunities it has due to racial troubles to come.
