      A tour de Tourettes…?

    • pommedetayto says:

Or a ‘tourette’s de force’ even…proving, if proof were needed that the problem with Democracy is that stupid people are allowed to vote…And where is his tie? Was it taken from him at the entrance along with his shoelaces…? To think I was shocked when I heard the phrase ‘cute-hoorism’ used in a radio broadcast of a debate in the Dail…

The subject of unparliamentary language set my mind off on a frolic of its own.You will no doubt remember the mother of all invective when ‘Gorgeous George’ lambasted Republican politicians and Journalists who accused him of perjury as ‘popinjays’ and ‘lickspittles’: a fawning contemptible servile flatterer and toady apparently! ‘Low bad words’ as Dr Johnson might say and to which you might add coxcomb, fribble, noddle and ninny! High comedy nonetheless…
I’ve decided on the Hiberno-Norman variant of my name!
