The Antrim man’s current “Kosher” EP is a fine showcase for his tender, fragile, occasionally cracked voice and his strong, crafted, hugely engaging songwriting. Formerly with Captain Kennedy, Lavery’s solo stirrings are well worth checking out.
Dublin band whose debut EP “Breakout” is full of bracing, assured rock/pop tunes and who already have a sound which is aiming for stadiums and arenas. Frontman Shobsy O’Brien’s voice is one of their key assets, but the musicianship underpinning the songs is also pretty striking at this early stage. The sound of a potentially very large crowd.
Formerly a well-travelled member of the Dublin Gospel Choir, Kellie Marie Reynolds is now producing ethereal, simple, bare-bones torch songs. Her new EP “Ghosts”, which came together with production help from Ross Turner (I Am the Cosmos), contains a fine clatter of ideas and well-worked lyrics.
