It has been a busy 12 months or so for Dublin fiddle player Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh. His most high profile engagement may be as one-fifth of The Gloaming, but there has also been fine albums bearing his name from This Is How We Fly and Triúr. In the last few weeks, Ó Raghallaigh has released two fine albums: a fascinating solo album for Diatribe called “Music for an Elliptical Orbit” and a glorious collaboration with Dan Trumen on “Laghdú”. Here’s an interview I did with Ó Raghallaigh the other week, along with a video shot by Darragh Bambrick of the fiddler performing and talking, while both recent albums are streaming below.
