Smoke ‘em if you’ve got ‘em: The Big Grill hits Dublin
A new BBQ festival hits the capital as the love affair with food-related events gets smokey
Expect fire and smoke for hours when The Big Grill takes over Dublin’s Herbert Park from August 15 to 17. It’s been a busy summer for food-related festivals and events – from the Ballymaloe LitFest to Bloom’s big food offshoot to the superchef of the local species Taste of Dublin – but the Big Grill is a different kettle of smoked fish.
A celebration of the art of cooking with fire & smoke, The Big Grill gives you the opportunity to smell, taste, discover and learn about all kinds of BBQ-ing, grilling, smoking, meats and delicacies from around the globe. You could do this with the BBQ three doors down, but this will probably be better fun.
Restaurants, eateries and vendors at The Big Grill include smokers from Diep Thai BBQ, Kinara Kitchen’s Pakastani Grill, Asador Argentine Grill, Pitt Bros, Toby Shea’s Whole Hog Cook and much more. There will also be a top range of Irish craft beers to go with all that meat. Aside from just eating meat, there will also be the Grillster Academy, the Cú Chulainn Cook Off BBQ competition, DJs like Choice Cuts’ duo Scope & Splyce, 45s king Baz Hickey, Billy Scurry, Lex Woo and iZem spinning dry-aged classics and much more.
