Here are the latest New Music selections from the On The Record column in tomorrow’s edition of The Ticket. Please feel free to share tips below or check out all past New Music selections here.

Pepa Knight

You may know Cameron “Pepa” Knight from his work with Sydney band Jinja Safari, but his solo stuff is what’s causing the wows at present. Debut single “Rahh” is joyful, giddy and infectious, the kind of alt-pop earworm which has you immediately thinking of warmer days.

Courtney Barnett

More Aussies in the spotlight, Courtney Barnett is a Melbourne-based singer-songwriter set to feature on many hit-lists after her appearance at next week’s Great Escape festival in Brighton. We dig her deeply alluring tunes about everyday life and love such as “Avant Gardener” and “History Eraser”

Formed initially as a bedroom band project by Connecticut childhood friends Joe Haller and Chris Duran, the Philadelphia-based band are fast gathering a head of steam. Songs such as “New Daze” and forthcoming single “Perfect Vision” hint at potential indie-pop crossover to come within a short space of time.
