Boxed In

Oli Bayston’s back-pages include dig-outs for Lily Allen, Toy and Steve Mason, but the prolific collaborator is on a whole new level with Boxed In. As debut single “All Your Love Is Gone” for Moshi Moshi shows, he’s now reaching for the sky with a gigantic tune featuring great swathes of nuance, pretty XL hooks and a giddy sense of possibility.

Brighton three-piece with noise, grunge and distorted pop blisters beneath their fingernails. “Mother” from their debut EP is a track to blow away your speakers, while gigs with the likes of Deap Vally, Skaters and Dinosaur Pile-Up have seen them honing their stagecraft muscles.

Solomon Grey
