Here’s a selection of the first batch of acts who will be in situ at the Electric Picnic’s Body & Soul village in Stradbally on August 30, 31 and September 1:

Phantom (not the radio station, but the awesome Finnish act)
Matthew E White
(oh yes!)
Josef Salvat
(he’d better bring that blue suit – he’s going to rock your world)
Frida Sundemo

Strange Passion presents SM Corporation and Choice (a solid gold classic straight from the achives)
Fallulah (hup!)
Máirtin O’Connor Band (more hup!)
Ryan Vail (repping Derry and a star turn at the Banter Salon in the city back in February)
Mark Mulcahy
Le Galaxie
(there was a law passed by the Seanad before they went off on holidays that all Irish fests must in future feature a glowstick-wielding Galaxie)
(excellent – looking forward to catching James Kelly again)
Slow Skies
Come On Live Long
(do yourselves a favour and check their album, people)
Overhead, The Albatross
Ajo Arkestra
John Smith
(or John Smith John Smith as he’s known round here)
Daithi (who recently turned the sunny town square in Kinsale into Space in Ibiza at a Banter session)
Vann Music
Tig Linn
Torann Drummers
Ultan Conlan
I Have A Tribe
(you’ll be raving about Tribe within months)
Last Days Of 1984
Jennifer Evans
(even more hup! She was awesome at Elastic Witch on Record Store Day so we’re psyched to hear those new songs again)
Band Of Clouds
The Eskies
The Dead Heavys
The Dionnes
King Kong Company
John Daly
The Amazing Few
