Here are the latest New Music selections from the On The Record column in tomorrow’s edition of The Ticket. Please feel free to share tips below or check out all past New Music selections here.

Sinjin Hawke

You’ll be hearing a lot more about the Barcelona-based producer if the wild “Prom Night” is any sign of what’s to come from the Red Bull Music Academy grad. A bass wobbler with a lot of finely detailed frills under the bonnet as well as horns you’ll be hearing in your dreams, “Prom Night” will move body and soul.

Sample Answer

Dublin teenager in London Maurice O’Connor is showing much promise with a neat mix of acoustic and hip-hop songs and sounds. Supports to acts like Archive, Congo Natty and Alabama 3 and his “Noel Fielding” debut EP have brought comparisons to Jamie T and Newton Faulkner. Thanks to Eddie Joyce for the heads-up.

The glorious “Hand On Heart” and “Summon the Strength” makes you want to find out a lot more about the girl with the the powerful voice. The 21 year old Londoner is a former Goldsmiths’ student and church singer who now produces slow-burning, rich, emotional soul with huge atmospheric elan. One to watch.
