Here are the latest New Music selections from the On The Record column in tomorrow’s edition of The Ticket. Please feel free to share tips below or check out all past New Music selections here.

Fallulah

Singer-songwriter and former ballerina, Maria Apetri is well known in her native Denmark, but she’s only now starting to make waves beyond her homeland. Check out the strong, vibrant and distinctive contours of “Out Of It” and prepare for another Danish import to go with your Borgen boxset.

Lady

Terry Walker and Nicole Wray are two bona-fide new-soul queenpins so their collaboration as Lady was always going to be on the money. Tracks like “Get Ready” and “Money” from their self-titled debut album (streaming here) are soulful blasts of brassy grooves, Motown swing and powerful vocals.

Halo Halo

London-based three-piece named after a colourful Filipino dessert whose own music is equally bright and fruity. “Manananggal” is a lovely slab of punky, funky noise and rhythm. Band have already toured all over, from Korea to Israel to the Philippines.
