It’s time to find the Dutch language tapes and prepare for another trip to northern Holland. Regular readers will know that the Eurosonic festival, which showcases new European acts, is how we like to start the year round these parts and we’ve covered the event here every January for the last few years.

Eurosonic 2013 takes place from January 9 to 12 and the list of the first acts confirmed for the festival is here.

The first Irish act to be confirmed are Little Green Cars. Per Eurosonic booker Marije Brouwer who was in town at the weekend for Hard Working Class Heroes, they’re just one of a lenghthy list of Irish bands who’ll be heading to Groningen in January to play for festival bookers, radio programmers, agents, promoters, media folk and your ordinary decent Dutch music fan.
