Here are the latest New Music selections from the On The Record column in tomorrow’s edition of The Ticket. All tips for future New Music picks welcome below

Ifan Dafydd

One white-label is all we have to go on here, but that’s more than enough as Ifan Dafydd does his magic with “No Good” (a ghostly, dastardly reworking of the Amy Winehouse tune) and “Miranda”. Loads of radio love already for the producer from Gilles Peterson and Jamie XX, who dropped “No Good” in his BBC Radio One Essential Mix last weekend.

This Is Laura

Fronted by north London based duo Kitty Dalton and Sarah Gavin, This Is Laura keep it sweet and folky with some sharply pitched nuggets of their own as well as inside-out covers of unlikely songs like Slipknott’s “Wait and Bleed”. Catch them at the Electric Picnic’s Global Green on Sunday at 2pm.

Ghost Outfit

Art students Jack Hardman and Mike Benson are the pair behind Ghost Outfit’s heavyweight fuzzy sounds which will make you jump up and down. Part of a currently vibrant Manchester lo-fi punk scene, the duo’s “I Was Good When I Was Young” from their “Young Ghosts” EP for Sways Records is one of the year’s most boisterous releases.
