Oxegen also added a load of acts to their line-up as well this week including Odd Future (oh yes), Slash, Metronomy (fantastic new album “The English Riviera”), Manic Street Preachers (yawn), Glasvegas (yawn), Peter Doherty (still yawning), The Saturdays (better than the last three acts put together), The Pretty Reckless, Professor Green, Ke$Ha, Eliza Doolittle, Example and Cherri Bomb

Two fine acts hitting the Galway Arts Festival big top in July are De La Soul (July 23 with support from the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, tickets €32.50) and Afrocubism (the band, fronted by Toumani Diabaté and Eliades Ochoa, who were the original idea for the Buena Vista Social Club play on July 18, tickets €35).

Additional acts for the Forbidden Fruit festival at Dublin’s IMMA over the June bank holiday weekend include Bombay Bicyle Club, Spankrock (with Amanda Black) and a Richter Collective-curated stage featuring The Cast Of Cheers, Not Squares, Bats, Enemies, Squarehead and Tera Melos. That’s shaping up to be quite a bill in Dublin 8.

Previously unannounced addiotions to the Sea Sessions music and surf festival bill (Bundoran, Co Donegal from June 24 to 26) include Gemma Hayes, Bitches with Wolves and Riptide Movement.

And finally, latest additions to the Temple House Festival in Ballymote, Co Sligo (June 10-12) include Ash, Stereo MCs, Lisa Hannigan, Whipping Boy (well, half of Whipping Boy – only two of the original members are in the line-up), Riptide Movement, The Kanyu Tree, Laura Sheeran, Chuckys River, Ball & Chain, D-Sonik, Nova Static, The Fallen Drakes and Land Lovers. There will also be an acoustic stage hosted by Bandwagon TV with such acts as B and The Honey Boy, Joy Booth, Machine Gun Baby, Yngve & The Innocent, Sanzkrit, Clive Barnes, Eugene Donegan, Neptune City, Henrietta Game, Saramai and The Swords, A Smile Just Came, Red Quenn Contest and Willie Kelly.
