Further proof of Oxford’s growing status as a fertile creative hotbed as Fixers join Trophy Wife and Chad Valley on the list of our fave post-Foals’ acts. Check out their ambitious art-rock and infectious avant-garde pop on new single “Iron Deer Dream”
Clare-born, Cork-based musician, composer, trad fiddler (a member of the Turloughmore Ceili Band), teacher and (just to show there’s always a downside) journalist who has recently turned her attention to making spooky, high-grade experimental pop tunes like “Smelly Defeat”. More of this kind of thing, please.
Download debut album “New Ways Of Saying No” for free from new-ish Irish band featuring ex-members of Lines Drawing Circles and Green Lights. Bold and brash angular indie with oodles of sweet-as melodies (see “Tides” for more of this). Band have yet to play live so keep an eye out for the debut gig.
