The Far Side – playlist for December 7
Jim Carroll
As played on The Far Side, Phantom 105.2, Tuesday December 7. It was the Far Side Classics show based on a trip to the attic in search of tunes which either had never featured on the show before or hadn’t featured in ages. We’ll do it again sometime.
Listen Again to The Far Side: you can listen back to a stream of last night’s show here.
The Far Side in December: The Far Side of 2010 will feature the best tunes of the year on December 14 and 28 and The Far Side of Christmas on December 21 is the annual weirdbeard and far-out soundtrack for a seasonal sleigh-ride.

I caught the second hour of the show last night, really enjoyed it.
Humdinger of a show last night JC.
Peter81 – cheers!
David – thanks – apologies for the horrible croaking inbetween tracks
Now that’s what I call an eclectic playlist!
Sweet relief in a world where Vinny B’s cracking up Kildare St and Prime Time broadcast live from the dungeons of Leinster House. Cheers!
Major – thanks for the tweet last night. I didn’t realise how appropriate tracks like “Burning Down the House” and “Inner City Blues” were going to be last night.
Love the closing numbers….Re another song about the Harlem River, check out out Harlem River Blues by Justin Townes Earle…. a joyful song about throwing himself in to said river….my song of the year….and forgive the pedant in me for saying it’s Tim rather than Ted Hardin
Brendan – no need to excuse yourself for being a pedant – my error – have corrected it now (had Ted Hawkins on the brain) – and will check out that Justin Townes Earle tune
Some tuneage there!
If one song sums up “where we are at” then it’s Inner City Blues. It really has been so relevant to me over the last year or so.
About 6 songs in there would be strong contenders for my all time top 10.
Must get listening to your show!
PE, missy, pharcyde, the roots, de la soul ……crackin
